Bibliotheca Sacra Volumes 1-10 now available online

The first 10 volumes of Bibliotheca Sacra are now available on-line here. There are four articles missing which will be added shortly - the Google books versions of these were incorrectly scanned. This block of articles contains material by some interesting authors, including the systematic theologian William Shedd and the church historian Philip Schaff.

Bibliotheca Sacra Table of Contents Under Development

Now that the table of contents for the Journal of Biblical Literature is complete my main project for the rest of the year will be completing the TOC for Bibliotheca Sacra and integrating this material into my sites. As part of this process I will be using PDF's made available by Google Books to produce and host OCRed pdfs of individual articles published from 1844-1921 (i.e. those in the Public Domain - a fact I have double-checked with the journal's current editor). This will mean that these articles will be soon available in countries where they are currently blocked by Google, including the UK. Google have indicated that they are happy for me to do this.

Although this is in progress, I am far from happy with the quality of many of the Google Book PDF's, which have a large file size, are often dirty and some (I have noted) are incomplete (and therefore useless) as they have been scanned incorrectly. For these reasons I would prefer to produce my own set of scans to replace them. What I will need, of course, is access to these early issues of Bibliotheca Sacra. So, if anyone can assist in loaning, donating or selling me the necessary materials, please let me know. Ideally I will need access to them at home, as I do not have time to travel to a library to scan them there, as all this work is done in my "spare" time -  a precious commodity at present. Please let me know if you can help with this.

Table of Contents for the Journal of Biblical Literature now online

In cooperation with the editor I have almost completed what I think will be the first publically available table of contents for the Journal of Biblical Literature. Click here to take a look. 

I have made available a number of Public Domain (pre-1915) articles and have permission to place on-line around 20 post-1915 articles. Tomorrow I will be visiting Tyndale House in Cambridge and one of the things I am hoping to do there is to acquire scans of the articles from JBL.

Year End Review

Complete Table of Contents for JETS now on-line

As promised a table of contents for the Journal of the Evangelical Theological Society is now available (here). Until fairly recently the Evangelical Theological Society website offered access to PDF versions of almost all of its back-issues, but now this is restricted to members of the Society only. Many other websites (including some of my own) still contain what are now invalid links to the articles in their previous locations.

Bulletin of the Evangelical Theological Society (BETS) Table of Contents on-line

As part of my ongoing project I have tonight completed the table contents for volume 1 - 11 of the Bulletin of the Evangelical Theological Society. After volume 11 the publication changed from a bulletin to a journal - my next project.

Christian Brethren Research Fellowship Journal Table of Contents on-line

This weekend I completed work on the table of contents for the Christian Brethren Research Fellowship Journal and the Christian Brethren Review. Some of the articles from these series are already on-line and others will be added in due course.
