...beyond the legal ramifications, image experts said Greenberg's transfer of so much stock to his wife's name, disclosed the same day he invoked his Fifth Amendment right not to testify in the investigation, could significantly reduce his public standing.
"Transferring shares three days before stepping down seems to me to be something that was done without any sort of thought of how it would play with the public," said James F. Haggerty, an expert in legal media strategy and chief executive of the PR Consulting Group. "What they have to realize is that everything they do has two ramifications, one inside the [legal process] and one outside."
