Hacker Uses Fox Twitter Feed To Falsely Report Obama's Assassination

BBC reports a group or individual by the name of Script Kiddies has claimed responsibility for hacking into two different Fox News' Twitter feeds and falsely reporting that Barack Obama had been assassinated.

From Fox News:

FoxNews.com's Twitter feed for political news, FoxNewspolitics, was hacked early Monday morning.

Hackers sent out several malicious and false tweets claiming that President Obama had been assassinated. Those reports are incorrect, of course, and the president is spending the July 4 holiday with his family at the White House.

FoxNews.com alerted the U.S. Secret Service, which is declining public comment. Jeff Misenti, vice president and general manager of Fox News Digital, said FoxNews.com is working with Twitter to address the situation as quickly as possible.

"We will be requesting a detailed investigation from Twitter about how this occurred, and measures to prevent future unauthorized access into FoxNews.com accounts," Misenti said

.

Followup On Twitter's Sarah Palin 'Death Wishers'

The other day it was highlighted, via video no less, that a number of Twitter users were issuing death wishes against Sarah Palin because the far left liberals and liberal media immediately tried to connect Palin and conservatives to the acts of Jared Lee Loughner, who shot and killed 6 people, injured 13 others and left Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords in critical condition after a gunshot wound to the head.

Recent news on Loughner has shown no connection to Palin or conservatives, nor to the far left liberals other than some of his beliefs were a mixture between the two ideological sides of the political spectrum.

This did not stop the liberal left, just hours after the shooting from attempting to exploit the massacre to push their meme.

One specific Twitter user was highlighted because she made the mistake of complaining to YouTube that the video made of the death wishes against Palin used her very public tweet, claiming it violated her privacy.

I called it the joke of the day because when you publicly put a message out there on a site like Twitter, you cannot take it back and by virtue of posting it, you yourself make it public domain.

Although her real name is out there now because of her own Twitter message, profile and subsequent complaint to YouTube, I am still only going to refer to her by her Twitter name which is redheadonfire2.

A young psych major who made her Twitter account private after the firestorm of attention she received after her outburst on Twitter saying "I think Sarah Palin should get shot instead of Gifford".



I have been watching Tweets that mention redheadonfire2 and it has not been pretty.

While I am in no way defending this little idiotic child, she is only 21 and youth excuses quite a bit of stupidity, she made her account private after her initial stupidity and she has also expressed regret for what she wrote.

Whether it is the public attention, the fact that she was highlighted or she is truly regretful for her hate filled Tweet, only she knows although I am sure many will believe what they want because of her original tweet.

That is from one of her YouTube video pages.. no, not linking it. Hoping this whole affair has taught her a lesson and again, she is just a child.

On the other hand, there were many more than just her tweets and those should be highlighted more because not only do they show no remorse, but in looking through Tweets that mention them and their own Twitter responses which are still public, we see more hatred and vitriol spewing from them.

Remember while looking at his original death wish and subsequent tweets, this man is actually raising a child.

I am not sure what Twitter is doing or why, but a search for Patten lists one entry from 23 hrs ago and then a note saying "Older Tweet results for Stephen Patten are unavailable."

Patten has not made his account private though and his running responses to people who have Tweeted about him are more telling in and of themselves.

You can see them all for yourselves by clicking onto his account, but I am going to highlight a few here:








This next tweet was from the video of Sarh Palin death wishes from what apparently is another school kid, acdcjacko2_f1, from his rambling twitters in the following days.



He, like Patten, goes after Serr8d, who seems to be the Twitter user that first compiled the video of the sick twisted Palin death wishers:





This next one is from danielpj and search results via Twitter show that on the 12th he caught his fair share of flak for his idiocy and hate filled rant, shown below:



He seems to simply ignore anyone that tweets in reference to his original Palin death wish, but it bears noting that once again, we are talking a youngster.... oh the parents of these last three must be so damn proud of their little angels!!



This next one seems to have simply removed and/or deleted his whole Twitter account because his Tweet was captured, but when you search the Reezyloccs page, it says "Sorry, that page doesn’t exist!"



A Google search shows Reezy existed long enough to publish the death wish shown above. The cached page shows Reezyloccs tweeted 1,081 tweets in his time as a member.

AD134 has a take that is disturbing to say the least, the original tweet he posted said "Can someone shoot Sarah Palin in the head instead"?



The subsequent tweets from this dolt does not acknowledge any of the followup news that has come out about Loughner, ignores the facts showing Loughner never had communications with Palin, was not involved in politics, was not on any email lists of Palins or conservatives and simply goes on to ramble about his death wish somehow compares to the crosshair symbol which both sides of the aisle have used while campaigning for an elected position.

Claims the death wasn't serious. Yes, death wishes are just so funny as a joke right?



The Twitter search results for AD134 shows this one has also been taking a fair share of criticism for his captured rant.

The examples go on and on just by going to Twitter and using the screen shots of the death wishes against Palin as a guide, search Twitter for the twitter names and you get a good look into the mid of many on the far left.

(It is notable that one of the quotes shown in the video was not a death wish, but was a sarcastic reply to those wishing death on Palin and has set the record straight ) I disagree with her post, conservatism is not dead, the maker of the video simply didn't understand the sarcasm in the rush to compile the death wishes. Unfortunate human error. Hopefully anyone else writing about this will highlight that post consistently whenever showing the video in the name of fairness.
