Midwest Open (cont'd)

The weather didn't look too promising on Friday night. We were hoping to do a couple of practice games but suddenly a thunderstorm broke out and we got drenched to the bone.
Maybe just as well, because for the rest of the weekend -- not a drop.

Saturday morning at 7 the CPC folks started outlining the courts. The two muddy spots were dry by midday. Tables & tents were set up.

By 9am the teams were arriving. Dan and his tireless crew (many of them called Bob..) took care of the paperwork.
Look, there's Kentucky - a 5 hour drive, by the way. And Detroit, and Mamary from Philadelphia! Some of us hadn't seen each other in a long time, many had never met. Time to put up more banners.

Then the briefing by tournament director David followed by the welcome word from Dan.
