O God, we beseech you,
please don't make us die in a car.
This is such a sad story. For the victims, and for the nation.
An engineer friend last night mentioned that we should expect more of this in the future. The U.S. interstate highway system was built to last 50 years.
It was begun in 1957.
If we need to rebuild an interstate transportation system from the ground up, why not consider high-speed rail for passenger travel?
UPDATE: America truly is falling apart.
