Friends of the Earth, in partnership with a number of other environmental groups, has submitted to President–elect Obama and Congressional leaders recommendations laying out nearly $60 billion in clean transportation projects that will put America back to work, save families money on transportation costs, reduce greenhouse gas emissions and other pollution, and cut oil consumption. This investment would also create 1.5 million new green jobs, and preserve 500,000 existing ones.
