Yunus Pushes Grameen America's Message From Abroad




Muhammad Yunus spoke to the AP earlier this week, from a financial conference he was attending in Nairobi, Kenya, and drove home again, the need for U.S. welfare reform. The head of the Grameen Bank stressed how difficult it is for people on welfare to get off of it.
“Many people are trapped in th system,” he said. And he highlighted the work that Grameen America is doing to help lift poor families out of poverty.

"People need money to start businesses and we are willing to give it," he said. "We are flourishing. We have an excellent repayment rate.".
