In case you missed last week's program in New York, co-sponsored by Meretz USA, of J Street's founder and president, Jeremy Ben-Ami and Atlantic correspondent Jeffrey Goldberg, you can catch it on video at J Street's website. Because I agreed with almost everything that both had to say, I did not feel compelled to comment on it immediately afterward.
There were differences between them, but they've obviously grown to respect and like each other since Goldberg's initially skeptical reception to J Street's rise. Goldberg may remain more skeptical in general toward the prospect of a resolution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Still, Goldberg has comedic talents that enlivened the discussion. And Goldberg is not a rejectionist by a long shot; both envision the same two-state solution, and both understand its necessity for Israel to remain a democratic and Jewish-majority state.
