Rev Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. would be an environmental justice leader today. As he said, "Injustice anywhere is injustice everywhere." Global warming cooks up a more volatile smog in urban Clean Air Act nonattainment areas. It is well documented that minority communities suffer most from air pollution because, not only are they exposed to general air pollution, they also have a disproportionate number of additional pollution sites located in their communities. We are certain that Dr. King would have addressed these serious threats to vulnerable communities. We just hope he would have time because Black-on-Black murder is the most serious issue in the African American community today.
