ICO Annual Report 2006-7
The Information Commissioner's Annual Report for 2006-7 was published yesterday. Some of the report's statistics on the Commissioner's FOI casework are below. All these figures relate to the year ending 31 March 2007.

Of those cases that were closed, 8.46% took between 6 and 9 months to close, 8.57% took between 9 months and a year to close and 16.22% took over a year to close.
Outcome of cases closed
Informally resolved 45.87%
Ineligible freedom of information complaint 23.53%
No internal review carried out by public authority 14.15%
Decision notice served 12.73%
No action required by the ICO or complaint withdrawn by applicant 2.65%
Other 1.08%
A total of 339 decision notices were issued during the year.

92 appeals against ICO decisions were lodged with the Information Tribunal during 2006/7.
